SHORT ANSWER:
The Cacophony Society is a random gathering of like-minded spirits in pursuit of experiences beyond the pale of mainstream

LONG ANSWER:
We are children of progress and privilege.   Suburbia is our heritage and most probably our future.  Comfortable enclaves, safe havens from crime and corruption.  So we have been told but we know better.   The Columbine Tragedy was not unique.  It seems like an epidemic this slaughter of children by children.  What was missing from their lives in this land of opportunity and freedom?  For those of us that have pondered this question seriously, we point not to the demise of the American family, but of the American individual.  All of our neighborhoods are beginning to flow one into the other, indistinguishable from the next.  Local businesses are being shut down by the corporate brand name or multi-national conglomerate down the street or in the mall.  Every where you go, the options are the same; mediocre, mainstream, middle of the road.   Where is there room for hope, if you don1t fit the mold?  Conform or die is the American mantra,  all of the highs and lows systematically edited for your convenience.

Can we save the mom and pop operation? Maybe not, but we can surely patronize their establishments.  Can we save the vacant children of suburbia?  Maybe not, but we can point the light for them to follow.  Can we make it better?  Maybe not, but we can enjoy it while it lasts.

What would you call the sound of an orchestra tuning up? We of the Cacophony Society use this analogy, an orchestra tuning up, to describe our interests and activities.  We pursue random notes in our community, the true culture of  Colorado, and when there is silence, we create noise.
